Sage Foster always knew that there was something wrong with her; she fainted for no reason and was in hospital a lot.
But things get out of hand when she struggles to control her urges to kill. When she kills it fells like her body isn't her own and she is possessed. She realises her mother has been hiding things from her. Feeling betrayed by her mother and in desperate need of support and love, she turns to Kaden Blythe: a handsome thief with a dark past. Sage knows he's bad news, but she can't seem to stay away from him, or keep herself from sharing everything with him.
Kaden is the only one who knows her secret, and surprisingly it doesn't disturb him that her blood is poisonous, but fate pushes Kaden away from Sage. She falls into the arms of Ryan Simpson, a charming boy next door who is the polar opposite to Kaden.
As soon as Sage thinks she is finally beginning to regain control of her life, the FBI finds her and she has to be on the run. Kaden suffers from a constant need to protect Sage and springs into action, vowing to protect her with his life, leaving Sage confused as to who she really wants to be with.
An unexpected revelation of identity slowly starts to fill in the blanks, but not enough for Sage to truly understand her place in the world or who she can trust. The only thing she truly knows is that she's a monster, a monster with an insatiable bloodlust.
