It's too late. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" Jimin screams shrilly, slamming his free hand down on the counter in his desperation to escape. Just like that, all of the building energy cresting within his body explodes outwards like an electric shockwave. He gasps audibly as purple lightning bolts leap from his fingertips and fry the register until it crackles and goes dead. The fluorescent lights above their head flicker and threaten to shut down entirely, but thankfully remain strong. The cashier screams in shock, whirling around to the sparking register with large eyes as she calls for her manager to come and assist her. She didn't seem to see what exactly happened as she calls for help through her walkie-talkie, mentioned that it had a power failure. Cheol scrambles backwards, his bruising grip torn away from Jimin with terror paling his face as he stares at the sparking cash register as if staring into the face of a poltergeist. Jimin's chest is heaving, staring with his mouth parted in horror at the damage. His eyes jump from his hands where mini volts of lingering lightning leap between his fingers before fizzling out altogether then back to the register, knees knocking together pitifully as tears flood his eyes.

'Min Yoongi 9 March 1993', it read. "You've got a lovely baby face, Mr. Customer. You don't look a day over 18," I said with a smile on my face. "You ought to stop smoking, sir. I'm sure you know it's bad for your health," I continued, as I checked his shopping out. "I don't think nagging your customers is part of your duties as a part-time convenience store worker," said customer quipped with a hint of impatience. I simply smiled, deciding to pull out a card from beneath the counter for special customers like him. "Here's a quit smoking hotline, sir. I wish you good health and happiness," while handing over his shopping." "Stop working so hard, 알바생", and with two long strides he left into the dark night, leaving a lingering sound of the wind chimes as the only proof that he was ever there. Status: Rapidly updating. God knows that I'll procrastinate and eventually forget that this book exists if I don't finish it in two weeks. Update: Took much longer than two weeks, but it is now complete.
