"Steve, I'm scared. I'm terrified something will happen to you." I cupped Steve's cheeks, making him look down at me.

"I'm just gonna dive down and find the gate. I'll be right back. I promise." Steve tried to assure me.

I removed my hands from his cheeks and looked down. "Hey, it's ok." Now it was Steve's turn to cup my cheek.
