Nature or Nurture: the raising of a monster

This story was started as a reaction to the maltreatment of Dr Frankenstein's creation in the Penny Dreadful series, at his very birth, by his own father. I wished to be there, to set things right, but of course that would be silly, I'm a forty-five year old married woman, with three teenage children. So I invented a young indomitable spirit to do the job for me, and re-wrote that whole heart-rending scene. And then another scene, and another one, and before I knew it the characters started to lead their own lives, making their own decisions. The action loosely follows the series, but of course different choices result in curious plot-twists.

I like to call this story the 'ladies' version' because my style is heavily influenced by English romantic literature. Also, making love is part of life, but to a woman suggestion is often stronger than description. I hope that you will let me know how you liked the story, and as I am not a native speaker, I appreciate comments on my use of the English language very much.
