"Augustus? Augustus?" he tried shaking him awake but he never stirred nor responded. Giovanni stared at his hands, his fingertips were bloody. Then another scene flashed through his eyes.

After Augustus had said the words only Giovanni and Augustine shares, he had taken down the shield protecting Augustus and strangled him. Augustus didn't fought back but instead just stared at him as he choked him and that's when he kissed him.

He thought "Why is he waiting? He's already dead. He's gone. For real now. You had killed him, Gio. He's not coming back." but he waits anyway. He will wait till there's nothing to wait for. He will wait since he meets his end. He will wait till he sees Augustine or Augustus even with the absence of certainty.
