Ashleigh Suzanne Condie was a person. A human being. At least she thought she was.
One summer, while visiting London, England (Her favorite place in the world) she meets people. Famous people. Who accept her. 
I mean she has a best friend, but she sort of just dropped off the face of the Earth with Ashleigh's older brother. Nice Bestie Ash. 
Her parents are just buttheads, going around the world, leaving Ashleigh behind, giving her money. (Not like getting money is a bad thing.) 
While being with those famous people, she meets other humans (Totally being descriptive) and finally gains the family that she has hoped for, and maybe her other half.
