Raven is an outcast. Orphaned as a baby, she has had a rough childhood filled with almost no good memories at all. Raven is special though; she was exposed to Aether, some call it the 5th element, as a babe and it stuck to her. Now, she is cursed with torturous pain and suffering that invades her mind and turns her eyes nearly to black, but not quite. These "episodes" cause her great pain, but are they really a curse? Griffin King shows her that it is hard, but she can get something out of the pain that could help defeat the enemy of King and his group of "them": the Machinist. Has Raven finally found a place she belongs? Can she keep them, and herself, alive? And what really happened to her parents?
