Theo Davies rubs Formula 1 the wrong way.

As the first American in the sport in more than 30 years, there's a lot of weight on his shoulders - representing his country, representing his team, and representing the family he left behind long ago. He's one of the brightest stars of the sport, so close to achieving everything he's ever wanted, but it all feels like a waste if he can't enjoy himself along the way.

When bad behavior dubbed "too American" threatens to exile him from the sport he loves, there's only one solution: total reputation rehab.

Enter Mallory Williams. She and Theo go way back or, at least they did, before things got complicated. When an out-of-the-bleu request to pose as Theo's girlfriend falls into her lap, it feels like it's the universe telling her to put the past behind her and help out an old friend.

The contract is 365 days. One year to sell the story to the public that Theo is a changed man, that he's starting to take life, and his sport, a bit more seriously.

To Mallory, it's an opportunity to help an old friend and nothing more, but Theo is impossible, both to handle and to resist.

To Theo, it's a potential death sentence, but it's also a last-chance. Like it or not, he needs her, and he can't help but feel drawn to her as she breaks down his walls and challenges him to be better.

The assignment is simple, but the year is not.
