When Hope was eight, the Hollow managed to somehow get back to her. The only way the Mikaelson family could protect their only heir was by sending her away, no matter how much it broke them. She landed in Storybrooke, a place without magic.
There, Hope is adopted by Mayor Regina Mills, gaining a little brother in the process. Everything seems normal until Henry comes home with a woman who just turns out to be his birth mother.
