After an incident when she was a little girl, Caliana Ackerman is thrown into the world of assassins and after years of hard training, she has mastered the art of killing... or so she thought.

One night, she and her assassin group are attacked by demons that she thought only existed in bedtime stories, and barely manages to escape.

Caliana realizes that there is a new threat out there and, Kassian, the new guy in town seems to be the only one that is able to help them. Reluctantly, she agrees to work with Kassian and learns how to defeat this new enemy.

As Caliana is learning new ways to kill and defeat these demons, events from her past start to resurface and she starts to make sense of the unfaithful night that she had been trying to suppress for the past 12 years.

Not only are her memories starting to resurface, but another part of Caliana starts to resurface, one that is dark and dangerous, which somehow only Kassian can make sense of. Despite knowing nothing about Kassian and being unsure of whether to trust him and his intentions, she knows that he is the only one who can help her.

As Caliana unravels more about her past and its secrets she realizes the path ahead of her is filled with danger, but she fears that her growing attraction to Kassian will be even more dangerous and deadly for her.
