This is more of a proof of concept than an actual novel, thus it doesn't always make sense and characters just appear and disappear without any explanation (i can't remember every single character i add). Also everything is subject to change, particularly the magic system which i'm still playing around with to make it both easy to understand and very versatile to make it fun.

Only becomes interesting from chapter 8 onwards, before it's mostly a very very long prologue.

Anyways, here's the description:
Aaron Smythe, a genius professor in Redwood, dies during a terrorist attack gone wrong. He wakes up in an unfamiliar world and decides to change for the better, to live happy and kind, though some in the shadows of this world put an end to his wishes of a peaceful life.

Trained gymnast and martial artist [Full Name] just wanted a break from it all. Thirteen years old and overworked, he finds himself at his wits end when he discovers myths aren't all that mythical. Even better, one of those (totally not) mythical figures is his father. Which one? He doesn't know, and he's not all that determined to find out. Too bad for him, nobody asked what he wants. (Story inspired by, but totally unrelated to the Bjork song. This is not that kind of fic.)
