In the day-to-day trenches of high school, it is almost the default-setting to believe we are the main character of our own coming-of-age story. This is not wrong. It's just ours isn't the only story there is. The jocks, the nerds, the cheerleaders, the losers, the stoners, the fangirls, the skaters. Everyone's the realest most important person in existence, all of them, at the same time, first-person narrators to their own stories, stumbling into each other's plot lines, defying the status-quo, catalysts to ups and downs. A deconstruction of all the high school tropes and cliches written over the years, a deep-dive into the psyche of students trying to finish high school while going through irrevocable self-discovery, the most improbable of connections, and the insufferable pains of growing up.

Ben is in 11th grade. He wishes his last two years go by fast so he could go to college. He's from a rich family, they own the boarding school. I mean that would explain why his family insisted he stays at the apartment in the boarding ever since he was a junior. His family insisted because....... Well Ben doesn't know why but he knows some other things. Ben knew he doesn't do well around extroverts. He knew he tends to be quiet most of the time. He knew he sucked at keeping friends. His only friend since his five years in the school was his cousin.....in another school. Ben knew his only chance at his first relationship in school just flew out the window. Being one of the eight gays in his school, he knew his first relationship would be in college. He has accepted that fact. Ben doesn't know why Chloe, the girlfriend of one of the popular boys in school wants to be his friend. And Chloe has a big friend group! A group full of extroverts and that one guy nicknamed 'Four words'.

It talks about abuse and there are some scenes where a character is having a panic attack. If this is too close for you and you don't feel comfortable reading things like that then It might be best to not start reading /genuine <3 I want you to know before reading that this is a book with a good ending! At a boarding school, there's only so much that kids can do to have fun. Especially high school kids. No fun drinking parties, well, not often, because teachers are all over. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun at parties in other ways! Kids from every grade take part in fun activities every Saturday -- organized by other kids -- to get everyone's minds off of school for the night. It could be just get-togethers, parties that aren't all that crazy, or weird and random games. Everyone is pretty much open to anything.
