“Who we are, and the purpose that binds us, has been observed and misinterpreted by many over time. These people saw us as exotic, powerful, and dangerous. They weren’t wrong. But that’s because they could never understand where our power comes from or why we have it. So eventually we became feared and then marginalized. We had to learn to blend in. We live as humans do now.”

When Eoin travels to his hometown in rural Ireland, he thinks it’s just a short visit between getting his degree and a brilliant future. But the people back home have other ideas. They claim him as a member of an order that he's been destined to join since birth. Confusion and disbelief quickly turn to horror when Eoin learns what he is now expected to do, and the lengths they are willing to go to make sure that he does. Eoin escapes to New York, only to find himself face to face with the very thing he desperately tried to avoid.

Niamh is counting down the days until she graduates high school and starts college in Ireland. She is eager to leave her small New Jersey town behind, but she has no idea how big her world is about to become. When she happens to meet Eoin one night in New York City, the connection hurls them both into the center of a conflict that spans time and space.

Together, they learn how truly powerful knowledge can be. When the full force of that power is turned against them, they must find a way to overcome things they cannot understand. As the shadowy figures of myth wreak some very real havoc on their modern lives, failure means death for one and devastation for the other, but neither can foresee the epic implications of their struggle.

Meet Violet Summers. She's the sarcastic girl who doesn't really ever get noticed by anyone. She blends into any crowd because of how "normal" she is. And she loves it. She wouldn't be able to stand the attention of everyone around her. That's why she won't tell Ryan Bloore, her crush for three years, that she practically worships the ground he walks on. Ryan is the captain of the basketball team at their school, so guys see him like he's a god and girls act like he walks on water. If they were to date, all eyes would be on her- she would be under everyone's scrutiny. So she's kept her feelings a secret, and she's done her best to suppress her emotions these past years, but she's realized that she's been so caught up in making people not notice her that she didn't realize how lonely she would be when no one was watching. Now meet Ryder Knight. School bad boy. Quarterback captain and heartthrob. The kind that wears a leather jacket and has tattoos all over his arms. The one who shows up to school riding a motorcycle. Just your average run of the mill "if you get involved with this guy, you will meet some serious trouble" kind of male. Well, too bad for Violet, she's stuck with him now. After all of the years of pushing away her feelings for Ryan because of her fear of being seen, she is now all anyone can look at- because of Ryder. Because of him, she can feel their stares, and she hates him for it. The longer they spend time together, the more Ryder starts to realize he actually enjoys being around her-despite her snarky comments about how much she despises him. And if Violet is being completely honest with herself, she's also starting to realize she might not actually hate the fact that people are noticing her now, but hate the way Ryder makes her feel.

I've been waiting for this moment for over a year now. Hoping, dreaming, holding onto the picture in my mind what life could be like. I always thought this would never come. Thinking it's impossible for me to have a new start. Go to a new place, see new faces, meet new people. It always felt like walking through a desert with a map drawn in water. But even then, I never let go of my dream. I would close my eyes and imagine everything. How different I would feel waking up in the morning, how light my chest would feel, how more confident and comfortable I would feel. I was kind of writing my own little story in my head. And now, I'm just one zip of my suitcase away and my story will be coming to life. ------------------------------- Venus Jennings didn't just leave Harbor Ridge, she escaped it. Haunted by loss and chased by memories she can't outrun. Venus builds a quiet new life in a new town where no one knows her name or the pain she carries. She wants a fresh start in hopes to finding something she's never truly had: Peace, freedom, and maybe even love. Lucas Solace is the last person Venus thought she would ever cross paths with. He's kind, sincere, incredibly handsome and impossible to ignore. He's everything Venus believes she doesn't deserve. With his charm and persistence she slowly catches herself falling for him. She doesn't want to because trust and love doesn't come easy to her when the past she's running from still haunts her in ways she can't explain . But she wonders if letting him in might not be so dangerous after all. As Venus begins to open up to new possibilities, shadows of her past resurface forcing her to confront the reality she's been avoiding instead of just accepting to be free.

"Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires. The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see." - Shakespeare People make mistakes. People break rules. People even break the law. Sure, we aren’t perfect creatures but the thing about people is that we usually have pretty good reasons behind those bad decisions. And another thing about people is that they tend not to care about reasons as much as actions. Hallie Rhodes has found this out the hard way. No, she’s not proud of the decisions that she’s made that may have put her at odds with the law, but she had her reasons. Not that anybody cares about reasons. The way Hallie saw it, she had no choice except to forge the documents to get herself and her two younger brothers out of an abusive foster home. She has had a lot of tough breaks in her life. She’s only eighteen but she already has custody of her two younger brothers and to make ends meet, she’s taken on a full-time job along with balancing her senior year of high school. Strong, determined, and mature- Hallie is ready for whatever life throws at her. Except for Tate Conner, who is the exact opposite of Hallie. Lazy, entitled, immature, and cocky. Fresh out of reform school and on parole, he is the epitome of a bad influence, which is why Hallie is outraged when she notices that her younger brother is starting to befriend Tate. As they continuously but heads, Hallie starts to wonder just how put-together she really is.
