At the beginning, there was one wizard. Don't we all know him ?
Merlin, of course. Gifted from birth with powerful magic, right hand to King Arthur and councillor of the Knight of the Round Table.
What is less known is that Merlin had a son, a son gifted with the same magic that ran through his veins.
At the beginning all was well and Merlin was teaching his son to use his powerful magic.
However, as time passed, Merlin realised that his son, now a young adult, was using his powers wrongly. He was causing pain and chaos in his path, tainting the ancestral magic of his father.
Upon his discovery, Merlin lost faith in men.
To punish his son, he casted a curse on his own bloodline, "for only the women of his family shall be graced by the gift of his magic."
For centuries, the descendants of the great wizard tried to birth a girl, but to no avail.
They tried until they succeeded and on the 22 July of 1973, Marla Blackbird was born.
