There isn't much that can humble Sherlock Holmes.He will out live God just to have the last word. He has never let anyone into his mind; that is until Scotland.
Her mind works almost just like his, with all the flaws included; she just doesn't know it yet. But, desperate for a fresh, new and completely different case, Sherlock is determined to show Scotland just how her mind works. But, Scotland wants nothing to do with Sherlock Holmes.
Scotland's rejection makes Sherlock even more determined and he finds himself going out of his way for this one girl, making the press and everyone in Sherlock's life go wild. No one understands what makes Scotland Petrova so special to Sherlock; what makes Sherlock take such an interest in her.
That is, until they learn she's deaf; living in complete and utter silence.

[Sherlock x Female OC] The thing is, there is an empty, gaping hole at the base of John's throat where his overwhelming guilt and periodic bouts of torturous grief used to be. It would be so easy to... to be angry and punch a hole through the wall, through the foam of his pillow -- drive his fist through Sherlock's heart. Also, Sherlock and Holland seem to bond quite well, which is something Sherlock finds too complicated to explain itself.Complete
Waking You Up
John dies and Sherlock blames himself, so much so that the guilt begins to affect his life. However, he keeps getting dreams of John talking to him and assuring him that he's not dead. Eventually Sherlock doesn't seem to know reality from dreams and everyone around thinks he's crazier than usual. As it is, Sherlock was in coma for awhile and John, very much alive, had been by his bedside constantly and talking to him in hopes he wakes up. Inspired by my favorite Futurama episode.Complete
