Two twins one fire nation one southern water tribe separated due to their differences and the separation of nations. 

Adeen was born with the ability to bend fire. She is taken away by Prince Zuko when he arrives at the Southern water tribe during his search for the avatar. Prince Zuko insists that Adeen should be with her own kind.

Amaya was born known for her unique ability to bend water when water benders were extinct in the Southern Water Tribe. She trained secretly with the help of a young water bender named Katara. She joins team avatar to fight and take her sister back

She grew up practicing her bending and helping Katara with all the chores, while their brother practiced his fighting skills and tried teaching the younger boys of their village. Makki's siblings followed their destiny of helping Aang master all four elements while Makki was stuck on a path with the Fire Nation Prince Zuko and his uncle Iroh. The three of them would cross paths with Aang, Katara, and Sokka, but Makki would always have trouble reuniting with her siblings, so she would try her best to show Zuko the right path. Ruka (ROO-KAH) is the middle sibling between Sokka and Katara. Unlike her younger sister, she didn't believe the avatar would return and save the world. Ruka isn't afraid of violence. That's her main source. She's strong, brave, and independent. Also, a gifted waterbender. She loves hard and is compassionate towards others.
