For centuries, the sirens have faithfully performed their duties. They've honed their craft, and they kill quickly, viciously, and mercilessly. They kill any fisherman or sailor who dares to cross their waters.

For the first time in 600 years, sirens refuse to kill a specific young sailor. Thinking quickly, they persuade their group that they require a slave, and so they keep her alive but imprisoned, all the while falling more and more in love with her every day.
