Ryland's Girl

"I'm done with you, Ryland."

I said as I left his bedroom, walking into the living room not seeing his two roommates chilling there.
Maybe I did see them though, but my brain wanted them to see how much of a dick he was. Maybe I wanted them to see my pain..

"I'm tired of having to beg for you. I'm tired of having to beg for your attention, your affection, not choosing something else other than me."

At this point, Ryland still had not uttered a word. His roommates watching, waiting for the next move.

"Why won't you choose me, Ryland? Am I that bad?" I wanted to yell this at him but it came out as a whisper almost at that point.

Ryland still said nothing and just stared at me. No emotions on this face. No "Fuck you, Olivia" or "Please stay, love. We can work this out, I'll change if you will just stay."

So I did what I should have done the first time I felt this pain.

I walked out the door.

Ryland didn't follow me. He never would.
