When Takao was about to be sunk/Killed as a target ship until a Female Knight with golden armor gave her some time to escape and from there she was hunted by Eagle Union and Royal Navy shipgirls, 

But she fled from Fuji Mountain and was about to die until a soul of a legendary shipgirl saved her life and gave her power and revelations about WW2, It was all a act Prepared by The Royal Navy and Eagle Union so they could Humiliate Ironblood and Sakura Empire as they think that they were getting to powerful, And so they created the Ship treaties to make Sakura Empire and Ironblood declare war to the Royal Navy and Eagle Union

And so The Legendary shipgirl gave her enough power to at least Kill one of them as she is the remaining member alive, The Grey Ghost

And After she killed the Grey Ghost she fled to the Philippines to live a peaceful life until The sirens came and all of the shipgirls were revived and as Takao saw this she started to defend Philippines from the shadows

On 7 August 1943 during In the Battle of Vella Gulf, Kawakaze was at death's door, as her crew, and her comrades betrayed her as they were ordered by Lady Nagato, due to Nagato finding out that Kawakaze killed Mutsu even thou it wasn't true As American destroyers saw her ship, she closes her eyes as she accepted her death, until 30 people on Kawakaze ship revealed themselves as Filipino's blending as Kawakaze's crew and from there The Filipino's take her and her ship to safety by telling the Americans that they are planning something special for Kawakaze and from there her life will change and with this second chance Kawakaze will prove her innocence to the empire even it means to betray them for Japan's future (Azur lane and the pictures here aren't mine they all belong to there original owners)

As Hornet CV-8 The last sister of the Yorktown Class was new to the Base she saw her sister Enterprise and Yorktown in a rush and ask her what is going on they tell her to pack her planes and leave and never returned Hornet asked why but they ignored her questions and then she followed her sisters orders As she and her sisters head to the Solomon Islands they left her there and tell them to stay out of sight from the enemies and then they never returned. Hornet waited and waited until she found out her countries downfall, she fell into despair as she thinks both of her sister's were already dead she didn't even get an chance to know and meet them, that all changed until an Woman wearing an Black Coat and hat gave her a chance for a reason to live (I don't own Azur lane It belongs to it's rightful owner and what's only mine here was the Watcher Force and the plot) (And I might borrow some characters from The Man Of the High Castle)
