Ragnar spends most of his time on Berk just trying to keep stubborn Vikings alive through dragon raids, the occasional wave of sickness, and (most often) their own recklessness. His best friend, Hiccup, happens to be one of the most stubborn and reckless Vikings on the island and he proves it when he does the impossible during an otherwise normal raid. Ragnar watches with a smile as events unfold and everything starts to change. After all, he's been telling Hiccup for years to stop trying to fit in with their 'traditional' ways. What starts off as a seemingly simple adventure to explore new lands and find new dragons soon uncovers a plot that may be bigger than all of them. With new allies and new enemies both, trouble seems to follow the Riders everywhere they go. Ragnar knows things are changing. He knows something big is coming. He also knows Hiccup needs to stop being so reckless but, at this point, that one's more hope than anything. Seven young adults living on their own island with basically no supervision. What could possibly go wrong? This is a sequel to my story 'Tip the Dragon Scales'.
