Paris has been suffering for five years under the reign of an emotional terrorist, and no one even knows. Thanks to both the Government's media censorship and the Miraculous' magic, news of Paris' predicament has never reached further than the city's outskirts, and so Ladybug and her partners have been left to fight against Hawkmoth alone.

After her attempts to contact the Justice League have went unanswered for years, Marinette has all but lost hope. That is, until her class partakes in a pen-pal project with students all across the world - and hers just so happens to be a boy from Gotham, home of The World's Greatest Detective and Justice League Member himself, Batman. Marinette knows better than to believe that such a thing is pure coincidence, and is determined to use this pen-pal project to her advantage.

What she didn't expect, however, was just how much she'd grow to like the mysterious boy behind the emails.
