Abike popularly known as Bee, the secondary school's star nerd, not the star girl exactly, but a shining nerd she was, representing her school at academic tournaments and always making sure to win, it was all she knew to do, all her parents wanted her to do, win!
The real star girl was her friend Rachel, whom everyone called Ray but their friendship wasn't as good as it used to be, now, they were barely acquaintances, almost strangers.
The two friends had fallen out over a boy Rachel believed Abike to have tried to steal off of her. Funny enough, the boy was with neither of them and he certainly hadn't asked Rachel out, he asked Abike instead but being the studious nerd, she wasn't the least bit interested but Ray would never believe that, she assumed her prettier friend wanted what she wanted. Bee couldn't even bring herself to like the boy even if it was to pretend, he was their senior and would leave for university next term anyways, besides she only had eyes for Andrew Laurent, a boy who wouldn't even look her way and never seemed to notice her.
She hoped as soon as Ray's crush left for university then she would have her bestfriend back but that never happened. Ray resented her till now, they were only in Js3 then and now 3years later in Ss3, Rachel and Abike never made it back to besties. Ray became the queen bee of Unity Model Secondary School and Bee was the most brilliant mind the school could boast of, they led entirely different lives until the last year of school.
Somehow a lot changed in the space of one year, it was like everyone was suddenly redefined. True intentions, malicious intents, green-eyed monsters, star-struck people and cupid-hit teens manifested among the Ss3 students of UMSS. It certainly turned out to be the best yet most terrifying year for Abike Tamara Wilson Odum.

Jolene was an average girl. Some would say there was absolutely nothing special about her. Yes, she was smart, but thatˋs pretty much it. Her looks werenˋt special, neither was she significantly good in sports or music. She was simply Jo, and she was totally fine with it.
With two close friends by her side, she just tried to get past this last year of high school with no drama or anything that could possibly draw too much attention to her.
Ashton OˋConnor though, was the complete opposite. He was the king, the kind of son parents would dream about. Handsome, tall, just perfect. He had everything... almost everything. Ashton wanted one specific girl, but in order to get her, he needed to change and show her that heˋs not the spoiled asshole she thinks he is. So, Ashton started to befriend Jo again, trying to manipulate her to help him get his crush on his side.
In Joˋs eyes, Ashton was the long-lost best friend she used to have a couple of years ago. In Ashtonˋs eyes, Jo was just the annoying little daughter of her motherˋs best friend, with whom he was forced to play as a child.
Jo was not a nerd. She was not the quiet girl, neither was she popular. Joˋs just Jo, and slowly, this fact started to get to Ashton in ways he could have never imagined.
