Charlotte is your average 16 year old girl - At least that's what she would like you to think. Her life had been filled with many difficulties due to suffering from a rare form of schizophrenia, developed from a young age. When she moves from Doncaster to London with her two adoptive parents - Esther and Tom and her younger brother, Toby; she's offered a place in a very advanced private mental institution to help with her condition and possibly change her life forever.
