Michelle "Mickey" Hopper has a lot of problems. An alcoholic father ignoring the loss of his youngest daughter, her sister, Sarah. A manipulative boyfriend who keeps convincing her to come back to him. A drug addiction she's keeping from nearly everyone in her life. And now, her friend Barb is missing and she's being drawn into a world of vanished children and mysterious monsters.
The one constant in her life is her best friend. To everyone else, he's King Steve "the Hair" Harrington, the cold and popular playboy.
