A devotee of the Higher Being, Stheer, Katsuki Bakugou is a Guardian Angel, one of the Eleven, a Class Two level immortal on his way to becoming a Higher Being. However, he loses favor with Stheer when he illegally marries Deku to the witch, a dark magic user, he has been in love with for decades. He goes to trial, figuring he'll be let off with a warning and some higher restrictions, when they bring up his unpassed Guardian's test.
They sentence him to a lifetime of devotion to one mortal of his choosing, and in a last-ditch effort to shorten the lifetime sentence, he begs that same witch, Uraraka, to make him a creature with a shorter lifespan.
And then he wakes up as a cat.
