In a world very different from ours in a different time. Life can be hard, the nobility controlling the world and ensuring nobody can threaten their rule. most destined to simply work until they outgrow their own usefulness.

The best some can hope for at a chance of freedom is the treacherous life of being a mercenary. Two prime examples of this are Puss, an experienced mercenary, and Grace Elaine A dark knight.

These two have a fairly simple life, at least for mercenaries, Travel, work, sleep, repeat. This cycle repeats endlessly until they travel to a small town for work and  meet Lothar Mourningcloud. a former soldier of fortune who settled down. But things begin to get strange, as Puss and grace lend help around the town they encounter undead, strange monstrous creatures, and discover people have been disappearing in the woods which pulsate with red lights in the night.

Lothar takes the two along with a friend of his on a journey to uncover what is going on, his only clue being the disappearance of his own father many years ago under similar circumstances, and the thick frost lining the trees in the woods...All Rights Reserved

In the woods south of the capital, a man born of magic wakes after a long sleep to experience his first taste of tragedy.
