It has been almost 8 years since the battle of Hogwarts, and Draco Malfoy would like nothing more than to disappear... but he has a sick mother to care for, an estate to manage, and an appointment with Hermione Granger regarding the welfare of his house-elves. So, when he and Granger find themselves together around the anniversary, it only makes sense for them to take a few shots.

Dear Mum and Dad, I'm sorry I haven't written to you since we got back to school. I would love to continue to lie, and say that I was busy with schoolwork, but truthfully I haven't had the stomach for that recently. I'm sorry, I promise I'm trying to get up to date with it all. But there's been a bit of an implication. This isn't really something I can say on parchment, so I'm asking my head of house to Floo us (the thing when we appear in the fireplace) to talk to you at home on Saturday the 22nd, nice and early, just as you like it. I'm sorry, I'll have to explain more then. There's not much else to say. Ron's fine, as blunt as a hammer as always. Harry's not as well, I'm afraid, he's not been the same since the Ministry battle, when he lost his Godfather. I'm not sure what to do about him- he's acting strangely, he won't eat, he won't sleep, he's hanging round with some dodgy people. Still, there's not much you can do, is there?
