The Global Championship Tournament comes to its conclusion as former IWA World Champion Loki and FXWF World Champion SpongeBob compete to see who adds a title to their collection. Scott Lang and Randy Carter will settle a long grudge in Falls Count Anywhere, and Sub Zero and Noob Saibot will do battle with all their history. That's not all! The Global Championship will be defended in a 4-Way Elimination Match: The champion SpongeBob, Solid Snake, Jack Sparrow, and Doctor Robotnik will clash to see who will get a taste of the gold! Plus, the Women's Championship will be defended in a Triple Threat between the champion Barbara Gordon, Judith Davila, and Elisa Vance. Both are multi-person matches where chaos is sure to follow. Also, the Television Championship is up for grabs as Kevin Riley heads into his second defense against the former champion Wade Fenwick. Raiden, the protector of Earthrealm, along with the Elder Gods stopped Shinnok. Locked him up in his own amulet. Others followed in Shinnok's footsteps, like Outworld's emperor Shao Kahn, who was obsessed with conquering realms. So the Elder Gods began the Mortal Kombat tournaments as a way to even the odds... give Earthrealm a chance. For generations, Shao Kahn followed the Elder Gods' rules. The war moved to the arena, where he sent his toughest fighters to challenge Raiden's greatest defenders in Mortal Kombat. The rules were clear, if Shao Kahn won ten tournaments in a row, he won. But if Earthrealm broke the streak, Kahn would have to start all over again. Outworld won nine tournaments. On the tenth, the monk Liu Kang defeated Shang Tsung and won the tournament, keeping Earthrealm safe. Shao Kahn however, is not going to let victory be taken from him.
