At a very young age, River and her twin brother 'Ryder' Wilson have been experimented on by an evil scientist and in doing so they developed extraordinary powers. When they were 14, they were saved by a sheriff deputy and his best friend 'Shane' when Ryder tipped them off. Under certain circumstances the twins had no choice but to use their powers to save the cops. Do to their parents being dead, Shane let them stay with him for the time being. Shane and Rick were the only ones that knew about their powers then later on Rick's family. As soon as River laid eyes on Rick's daughter, she felt like nothing else mattered in the world except for this one girl.

Eventually Maggie their newest doctor and survivor decides to take the girl out of Rick's arms. When Maggie and Shane ask what her name is, that is when she answers Callie Dixon making the brothers freeze in their place. They get angry at her because they think it is not real and Callie gets mean like a wolf towards both of them. She is the real lost sister of them both.
