Roberta "Robbie" Ross is bound to have the summer of her life; living in South Carolina with her mother Betty and best friend Azizi-who is finally making moves towards a relationship-is already like living in paradise.
Except her paradise is invaded by undercover agents and a particular group of individuals who harness various powers and incredible skills. Robbie soon learns that this group is made up of superheroes known as The Avengers, and that her mother has a close connection with Bruce Banner.
With Robbie and her mother in custody of SHIELD, the undercover organization, Betty must team up with The Avengers to aid in their newest mission: to locate a missing submersible with a healing stone.
Through their mission, Robbie struggles trying to connect the relationship Betty had with Bruce, whilst ignoring all of his motives in getting to know her. On top of that, Robbie finds that maybe she has powers of her own, and with the knowledge she holds of the ocean could lead a successful mission for SHIELD and The Avengers.
However, Robbie is going to see just how this summer changes her life forever.
