Matthew Shane Anthony Grimes had a relatively normal upbringing. His father being a sherif and his mother a housewife. He was finally in his senior year of high school, finally going to be free from the shackles that was the education system, when the world shut down. 

From there his life went downhill, his dad was shot on duty and a virus went global, reanimating the dead. His one goal from then on was to protect him mom and brother with the help of his dads best friend, Uncle Shane.
