They reach the knowledge of their abilities at the age of 6, and are sent to schools to train them into keeping themselves safe with these powers.

When Roman gets a penpal for his college English Lit class, he isn't all too happy about who he's gotten. His penpal is mysterious, angsty, and he doesn't seem all that friendly, but he is determined to get passed that tough exterior. But it doesn't help that he refuses to tell Roman his name. Virgil wasn't all too surprised about a random letter showing up at his house. He was already made aware of the penpal assignment that Mr. Sanders was doing for his English class and got his permission to give him to one of his student who he believed they would "make a great pair". *Completed* Virgil has never had it easy, not since he was kicked out of his home by his own father. He's struggled to survive, and has fought for food. He sees what should have been an easy meal, some berries on a tree hanging over the river. It should have been easy to get it, of course the stupid branch had to break and he was sent plummeting into the river. Roman loves to sneak away from his colony and his fae duties to head to the river, he's always wondered what is on the other side of it. Of course, he and everyone else in his colony is banned from crossing it. One day though, a stranger with no wings and a tail washes up on the river bank. When he takes him back to the colony, he's put in charge of taking care of him. Thomas has inherited his home from family, it's in the middle of nowhere in a forest. It was nice, and not too far from his home is a nice river he can explore. Of course it can't be so simple though, since Thomas is in debt and could very well lose the home. Not wanting to lose a home that had been in his family for so long, he struggles to find some way to pay it off.
