Penalia has always been rebellious for as long as she can remember. The only person that she dislikes more than her controlling father is Eron, the most powerful and petrifying knight in the empire, who also happens to be the leader of the infamous Ryuk clan. She has never met him, but his stories about violent acts and bloodshed are well known to all.
She had been rejecting proposals that came her way as she was not ready for marriage but one day a proposal is sent by the very man she has sworn to loathe: Eron. She would never, in her dreams, agree to marry him. The only problem is that the union has been ordered and approved by the Emperor, and one cannot go against his wishes. Little does she know that the proposal will teleport her to a land full of magic and unwordly creatures.

I flinch as his hand reaches to my face, and aggressively pulls down the cloak from my head. He surveys my tear stained face and jewelry all the way down to my dress.
