An unfortunate story of a prince and a parentless girl, oh, and a thousand-year-old curse. **I may remove this story if I feel I want to work on the story as a whole, instead of chapter by chapter* I will try my best to portray the bits of Slavic mythology and culture I have incorporated as accurately as possible. I am of Slavic descent on my mothers side, but she moved away from her home country when she was young, so I am only now learning about our culture. Please feel free to correct me if I have misportrayed anything at all. Please be kind as well. TW: This story will contain mentions of gore, torture, and other triggering topics. Proceed at your own risk.

(Complete) Folkelore Prequel "Stepping out of the carriage, I take a moment to let the flashbacks pass. So many memories surrounding this palace. And the man who owns it." Octavia never wanted to be the bad guy. She didn't ask for a ruthless father, or to be his right hand soldier. Still, she's sent on mission after mission, searching for the same thing. Power. Will her father's greed get her killed, or will it get her everything she ever dreamed of? ** note: this story does have some mentions of violence, abuse, war, and death. They are not gory or graphic, but they do play a role in the story and can't really be skipped. **
