Faith remembers playing tag with her mother on the tracks as a little girl. But what she doesn't remember is the tragedy, when the abandoned tracks suddenly weren't abandoned anymore.
Living in her small off-the-map hometown of Carlando, Ohio, she resides with her grandfather in an old farmhouse. Faith believes that one day her mother will be back for her, from wherever she had to rush off to. But when Faith decides she can't wait any longer, she begins the long journey to the end of the tracks, dragging her childhood friend, Oakley, along with her.
Oakley may be the only one who knows, The only one that remembers that terrible day. But he isn't about to crush her hopes and dreams, and destroy all she lives for. All he can do is protect his childhood playmate on her journey.
And besides. He thinks that this journey will be good for Faith, and make her see life through open eyes, instead of continually squinting blindly into the sun.
-note- I did make up the town.
