In a day of mist , he was standing alone by the window , looking at the landscape . He was sure she wouldn't come , he was convinced she would forget him , after all , no one ever looked up for him . Not even his parents . Now that they have died he was alone in that big mansion outside the town . Since their death two months ago he only went to his classes twice and he was thinking on dropping out , he never wanted to become a lawyer anyway , he always wanted to be a writer . All those codes and laws , they were boring , he never wanted any of it . His father forced him , he told him that it was studying Law or leave his house . His mother died years ago , he could hardly remember her face , and his step mother couldn't care less about him . He was glad his father and she died in that car crash , he wasn't sure how many time he was going to be able to bear them . If it wasn't for Han he would have probably killed both of them . He met him when the classes started . He was the first and only person who talked to him in his school . He remembered perfectly the first time they smoke weed together and that other time when *rrriiiiiiiinnng* He startled when the doorbell rang . Could it be her ? Maybe it was just his imagination , it was surely that , no girl ever wanted him before , he was too strange , too bizarre , too ... The doorbell again , clear this time . Why didn't the servants already opened the door ? It took him two seconds to remember that he sent them away himself . The bell rang again , impatient . He sighed and wend down the stairs to open the door of the great mansion . Could it really be her ? Even with that mist he should have been able to see a vehicle on the path to the mansion . Maybe he was too distracted with his thoughts to see it coming , or maybe she came on her feet all the way .

" I'm sick of you putting your hands on me Johnny!" A loud gunshot went off, echoing around the house, and for the first time, it was quiet. No more door slamming, no more cleaning up my mother's blood off the walls, and no more fighting. I remember asking my mother "Are we free?" I swear it felt like Christmas or New Year's. All I can hear is cheering in my head or maybe ringing. For the first time in 12 years Mother and I were able to sleep that hot summer night in bed together. April's life changed once she saw her dad Johnny get murdered right in front of her, by her mother June. A self-defense case quickly turned to manslaughter and the law turned against June at the drop of a hat. June was sentenced to 25 to life, a then 14-year-old April was left alone. Her dad said didn't want anything to do with her as she was defending her mother and June never knew her parents as she grew up in group homes. April is now a 25-year-old private eye and teaches self-defence classes in honour of her mother. On her off days, she works at a gentleman's club called "The Claw" where she meets Derek Hill and their life is forever changed. But April has a secret and no one will ever find out, cause if you did you'll end up just like Johnny. ❌This book is not for the weak❌ 21+
