During the second world war, times were difficult and Killian Jones, who was a captain in the navy, never had found a reason to want to stay on land after his fiancée's death.
That is until he met Emma Swan at a dock in Maine where she lives and runs a bakery. They don't meet at the bakery though, they meet at the diner when she's getting lunch and she's in a rush to get back to work. She runs into him and apologizes quickly before continuing to run off to the bakery across the street but not without giving him a gorgeous smile to make him feel weak. He watches her go and then promises himself he'll go to the bakery to meet her, this might be his new favorite place.
