Carol doesn't know where she came from. In a world where children are dying, twelve-year-olds are being trained to go off to war, and the royal family is falling apart, Carol Hayburn-Charter is finishing her military training and preparing, along with her three close friends, to join the fight. But are these four seventeen-year-olds being sent off to fight for the right side of this battle? Who is the real enemy? It is a story that explores topics such as morality, the importance of platonic and romantic love, and the importance of following one's heart.
