Some say we're special, and that's why we're kept in seclusion. Beyond those walls evil lurks and innocent prey would be lost in minutes. Gone. Destroyed. Forgotten. Others say the opposite: we're locked away because there's something wrong with us. If we roamed the outside world, we might taint the beautiful ones. A species so pure, that to merely be in their presence is a gift. As for my beliefs...I'm not sure. But I do know one thing: neither of those reasons explains why it is that they come for us only after we've passed the age of sixteen. Whether we want to go or not, we're taken through those iron gates. Escorted away from the only home we've ever known, escorted to our destiny-whatever that destiny may be-never to be seen again.

I like to try and focus on the descriptions to bring you, the reader, into the tiny shoes of Amelia as much as I can. The beginning of vampirism. Family, friends, neighbours all behaving like crazy performing acts of cannibalism. How could you see who whas sick? By looking at theyr eyes... How so beautiful people could be killing for fun? Was it a virus or something else? Normally we say "if we burry things, they should keep buried." What happens wen the human kind starts to dig old hidden things that should continue hidden and protected? What happens wen a perfectly frozen dead body gets unfrozen? Everything started wen an expedition went wrong in taiga, one of the biggest forests that covers 10% of the Earths ground passing through the far northern reaches of Europe, Asia, and North America. Is the human Race safe? Are vampires really the beautiful, dangerous creatures all teen movies showed or just "zombies" wanting chaos, flesh and blood?
