The both of them create a close bond, and Nightmare explains how the villagers mistreats him and how they treasure Dream. Ink knew Dream for awhile, but Dream never mentions Nightmare. One day Nightmare had enough of the villagers and ate the apple of negativity and leaves Dreamtale empty. When a sudden implosion of an AU wrecks havoc and almost destroys the entire Multiverse, he is forced to find out the cause of this chaos...and how it all seems to tie back to the very same AU that was filled with ash and misery. He never fully understood why he himself had been made to be the Destructor of Worlds, but the secrets inside the world "Ashentale" may help him discover that there might have been a Multiverse before his Multiverse existed.
