Danielle has simple life. Wake up. Go to school. Hook up with a guy here and there. Living with her strict family, she feels as if she's constantly trying to please her parents and failing. Not a high enough grade on a midterm, didn't get an officer's position in all of her extracurricular activities; the list goes on and on.
When she meets Kyle Roland, she's intrigued. She's never received romantic attention before, and relishes the affection he gives her. It's the little things she loves; a rose delivered to her house, a surprise visit when she feels unhappy, random trips to watch the sunset.
After discovering something... unusual about him, she is hesitant to trust him while he pulls her along on his crazy adventures.
