The light at the end of the tunnel

It had been a while since Adam managed to go for a walk at nighttime. The cold dry wind blew against his mostly covered face as he walked around the evenly cold forest path. He was just a couple of kilometres away from the small village which he called his destination and home. This had to be the worst day ever: First the snowstorm, then the car accident, and finally his phone battery dying on him while he walked through the forest close to his village. The paved main road would have been safer sure, but the dirt path he was currently using was the faster option on foot...
