Paul Goodbrook was born in Piltover, but like many unfortunate souls in Zaun, he lost people he cared for when the Topsiders battled the Zaunites. This put him down a path he didn't expect, where he will discover more about himself, whilst meeting lots of interesting people along the way as he navigates the political world of Pilltover and falls further into Zaun's crminal underworld.
This is book 1 of a planned book trilogy. This book will take place over the year before the start of Act 2 of the show, then will follow Paul's POV through the events of the show. As such, this book will be more of a contained story, as it will mainly follow Paul for the majority of the chapters. The plan is for book 2 to be my own version of Season 2 with some original characters involved, so it will be a larger story with regards to how many characters we will follow. Then book 3 will be a season 3 story based on my season 2 story.
My plan is to upload 1 chapter per week after I publish Chapter 3 (I had the first 3 pre written to see what numbers/feedback I get), but this may end up becoming 1 chapter every 2 weeks. If I'm able to get a lot of work done, I will publish chapters on a more regular basis outside of the established schedule. If any changes occur like a hiatus or something like that, I will update this description.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a League of Legends fan, I am a fan of Arcane. I have researched into LoL lore for inspiration, but I will not be using this as a faithful prequel to the current game lore. IT WILL BE ITS OWN STORY. This means that I may end up killing characters off before they reach the position they are in the game. I do not own Arcane. Any original characters are of my own making.

Modern AU CaitVi (from Arcane) fanfic Caitlyn Kiramman has been playing volleyball since before she could talk. It's her past, present, and future. It's her senior year at Piltover Academy, and she needs to make sure that it's her best. As team captain, she has the opportunity to build a team that will sweep the competition and make her mother proud. She can't afford any distractions. Violet Lane, Vi, is a girl with a chip on her shoulder. There are only two things in life that she cares about: volleyball and her family. She has never been good at making friends, but it will be even harder now that she is being forced to transfer to Piltover Academy for her senior year of high school. Not only will she be the new kid at school, but she will also have to attend a school full of snobby wealthy kids who will look down on her. Caitlyn and Vi are not a good pairing, but their love for their sports has forced them together. The people of The Underground were never the luckiest pair. Only a special few were lucky, lucky enough to get the privileges of the topside. The (L/n)s were an example of such lucky people of Zaun. But even then they wouldn't be safe in Piltover. Vander, the brother of the woman who married (F/n) (L/n), warned his sister that they wouldn't be safe and how right he was when the family was murdered by corrupted enforcers. The child managed to defend himself but even it was self defense, it wouldn't be seen that way to the people of Piltover. They accused the boy for murdering just for the heck of it. But it was in that particular moment the boy knew that the topside will always think their better then the Underground. And with that knowledge he swore to avenge his parents by detroying the councilors of the oh so great Piltover. After escaping a death sentence and leaving his first love and friend behind, he seeks for his uncle in Zaun's Undercity and hopes to avenge his parents when he gets stronger.
