A new kid moves into the neighborhood, joining a bit late in the school year, of course. He doesn't talk a lot except with his friends. No one dares to mess with him, not even the group of boys who think they run the whole campus. That's what's interesting about him though.

"You're going to be better at this than me one day. Just look at you!" He laughed, the wind ruffling his hair.
I shook my head, chuckling. "I'm surprised this skateboard hasn't broken from my weight yet."
"Let's stop here." He smiled at me, jumping off his board. He flicked it up by stepping on the end of it, catching it. I stopped as well, looking at him confused. He set the board down gently, walking up rather close to me. He held my face ever so gently. "God, I love your face.." He whispered softly to me.
"I thought I was 'just a friend'." I began stepping backwards, my feelings stirring up.
"Fuck that." He pulled me close to him, his hands on my waist.

My heart pulsated through my chest and I didn't think I could hold on for much longer.
