The Hymn of Midnight

Calista Revel Ignacio always believed that she was capable of greatness. She was passionate about many things, including writing, music, and art. In fact, her whole life revolved on studying, chasing excellence and perfection. All she ever wanted was freedom from the expectations of others and her own. But she knew that she needed to forget these things as she entered college as a BS Accountancy student in one of the best accounting schools in the country. She no longer thinks she can pursue the things that make her happy because life for her is not a wish-granting factory.

She found comfort in the presence of a friend whom she met online during the difficult times of the pandemic, Niccolo Leonel Agustin. Her life was way better when someone came to listen to her and experienced the same dilemmas. She would describe him as someone who understood and related to everything she told him. The only difference is that Niccolo knew what he wanted and would do everything to get the "Engineer" title before his name.

It was a great friendship until she started to feel things she never wanted. And then she found herself asking, "how should I end something that was not given a chance to start?"
