The country is also in the midst of going to war with rival countries over what appears to be nonsense. He decides to go to a friends house to unwind and play video games. Their relaxation quickly turns frantic when unexplained explosions rock the neighborhood. A phone call from his friends dad who is stationed on a military base turns weird when he demands for them to get down into a unfinished bunker for safety. After spending days inside, they emerge from the bunker and quickly find out that the world is a different place. It is evident that a war has started but, they can not listen to what so-called leaders of the world have told them. they find out they have to survive on their own, where it seems like it's every man for themselves. A teenage girl rebells against her constricting parents, not wanting to put up with their behaviour anymore and is promptly kicked out of her childhood home, leaving her with nothing as well. Having ended up at the very bottom, they have nothing left to lose, but cruel fate intertwines their journeys, and now both try to navigate their new way of life together. Initially both are somewhat weary of each other, but more open and trusting as they grow closer over the course of their adventures
