Our memories and how we love are so deeply intertwined in strange messes. We love in ways that reflect how we were once loved as children. This is my exploration of that told from the perspective of Alina, a 20-something trying to restore some grounded identity in the face of heartbreak; how the strongest love can be rendered down to a core memory of imagining our brains on the wall.

I've always believed I can make a difference. The faith I have in this is unwavering. When I came home on my tenth birthday to find my mother's fragile mental state swinging into crazed, I still believed I could help. I thought it was a problem of my making, and I've lived my life trying to remedy the mistake every since. Never mind that I don't know what I did. Never mind that she hits me and yells. Forget the fact that I sometimes want to die because I feel so worthless. Ignore all of that because this one idea is all I can think about. Making a difference in her life and others' lives consumes me. But will it destroy me too? Maybe. Maybe not. I'll find out when I reach the breaking point. As to where that point is? Only time will tell. The only thing I know for sure anymore is that I have to try to make up for my sins, whatever they are. And until I do that, I doubt I'll ever find my peace.Complete

I became fascinated with creating tattoos and getting the, soon I find that I am able to do more creative work.....both visually and literary! As I decide each tattoo for the future I find that my creativity gets better and better! I always thought that love would be constantly happy. That someone would write me love songs and stupid poems and everything they did would make my heart flutter. I thought that there was always one person you could depend on no matter what to be there for you. Someone who still cared for you despite all your flaws. Someone who could see the best and the worst of you and still think you were the greatest person in the entire world.
