Divide and conquer; that's all they know. Humans divided sirens and mermaids, people who once lived and worked together. Mermaids abandoned my kind and the only people that we were able to stay with were my family and a few other sirens. Blood was shed, and lives were lost. And I was one of the people to pay for that price. "I hope you learn to stop doing these bad things, Sirena. If you don't stop, fate will do something bad in return." I did something that made me seem like the villain of the story when my story was yet to be written. "F-father, I-I didn't mean it. H-he was trying to hurt me. I didn't mean to do this," Facing life in a new environment was hard for my brother and me. I was merely a kid at that time and knew nothing about the strange world they call land. "F-father?" I needed to be strong. This world will try to bring me down but I won't let that happen. "I trusted you!" I'm Sirena Moonlit and this is my story. "You will pay for what you've done..."

A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school. I've used her character to help me through tough times and I am revisiting her. I want to make sure I have a place to remember her story, and make it a happier one than before.
