When a young teenager grows a pair of wings and a tail, he is given the remarkable ability to transform between a nightfury, and a human. And after a few days of, he can morph between nightfury and human completely. When he finds out how his parents might have actually left, he goes off on a trip to search for the truth, only to land on an island of unknown origin. And boy is it icy.
When Kaz returns home for a ghost-like visit, he gets his other side spotted during a rescue, he immediately decides to go on the run, leaving those he loved back in Lakeshore. Never to return. Or will he?
