The last thing that Tessa Vaughan wanted was to have to work with her best friend's brother, Tom. From the very moment they met, they had been butting heads - in her defence, he started it.

Thomas Fox never understood the urge to tease Tessa every chance he got. She stirred something in him. It was a mixture of impatience and excitement. Having that furious gaze focused on him made him feel alive.
He took any opportunity to provoke her. Her community project was just one of those opportunities. It was the kind of action he'd been a part of since his teenage years, besides he could ruffle her feathers everyday for a couple of months.
But the more time he spent with her, the more sides of her he saw, and the more he wanted - her eyes on him, her smile directed at him, to touch her, to kiss her.
He was slowly realising the reason for his urge. He just needed to convince her to give him a chance.
